“I knew I had to have a good kick in order to beat her because she’s got good endurance and I had to keep up with her the whole time,” Conley said after the first time ever racing Stone.

Conley finished second in the 100 hurdles and ran one leg in the Falcons’ 1,600 relay win along with teammates Cortney Reynolds, Brittany Heinz and Brandy Crews.

Reynolds finished second behind Niemeir in the 200 and 400 and fourth in the 100 while Crews finished second in the 100 and fourth in the 200.

Mariah Mitman also earned a first-place finish for the Falcons with a four foot, 11-inch high jump.

Taking second place, Darby was led by double threat Maria Cress who won the javelin (129-2) and discus (110-7).

Tiger Missy DeWalt won the triple jump (33-8) and teammate Christina Bender took the long jump (15-5).

In boys action, Darby had the lead after Friday’s events when Aaron Johnston won the 400 (54.79) and Paul Abrahamsen took the 800 (2:04.24) and 3,200 (10:15.92).

The Tigers swept the first three places of the 3,200 when Seth Garbett and Matt Stout finished behind Abrahamsen.

“We had a really good track meet,” Darby head coach Steve Gideon said. “It’s exciting to have so many kids improve and do different events.”

After Saturday’s events, Seeley-Swan ended up with the district win with 138 points to Darby’s 132.

“Our goal for both boys and girls was to get first or second,” Gideon said.

Abrahamsen went on to win the 1,600 in 4:39.62 Saturday while teammates Stout and Garbett finished third and fourth.

Kyle Rider had a third place finish in the 300 hurdles for Darby and Johnston took third in the long jump.

The top five placers in each event qualify for the Western B divisional meet in Missoula May 16-17.

In District 13-C action, the Victor Pirate boys held the lead after the first day but fell behind Saturday and finished second behind Drummond.

Pirate Chris Mai took the 800 and 1,600 while teammate Eric Bissett took first in the 400 and Elliot Fisher finished on top in the 3,200.

Mai and Bissett, along with Eric Taylor and Cody Burdett also earned first in the 1,600 relay.

Britany Mitcham earned a district title in girls action finishing the 300 hurdles in 52.52 while taking second in the long jump, third in the 100 hurdles and fifth in the triple jump.

The Western C divisional meet is in Missoula May 16-17.
