“To look at it positively, it kind of gets the monkey off our back,” Corvallis coach Rich Borden said.

The Central A Blue Devils fell to Western A Polson 4-2 before holding Libby scoreless in a 12-0 win.

“It took the pressure off us and allowed us to play the game I think we can play,” Borden said of the loss to the Pirates.

On Saturday, Corvallis posted a 7-2 win over Class B-C Thompson Falls but did not play in a rescheduled game against Loyola.

Kasie Conder nailed a home run in the Polson game and BriAnna Brawley smacked another in the Libby game for the Blue Devils.
